This Ancient Woodland Alerts Map is regularly updated with ancient woodlands under threat and the local groups leading the fight to protect them.

 

Please contact us via our contact form or instagram to add an ancient woodland under threat. To be eligible, the area must have been wooded since 1600 in England and Wales and 1750 in Scotland. There must be a current known or historic threat, as evidenced by a planning notice or other formal documentation.

 

By evidencing the scale of threat to ancient woodlands we build evidence for the need for full legal protection.
